Gl Garments

Our place, Gl Garments, is situated over at Chekkukarar Thottam in Suriyan Nagar. If you are looking for the exact spot, it is TS No 902 in the Karuvampalayam Extension area. It’s a bit of a walk from the main bus stop, but it’s a quiet enough spot for getting work done. We do mostly garment manufacturing here. The building isn't anything special to look at from the outside, but inside we stay quite busy. We have a few rows of machines and some large tables for laying out the cloth before cutting. It gets pretty hot in the afternoons, so we keep the fans running full blast. Most of the people working here live nearby in Karuvampalayam. We aren't a huge corporation with a lot of rules and manuals. We just know how to sew and how to get the orders finished on time. Sometimes a machine breaks down and we have to wait for the repair guy, which is always a bit frustrating, but that’s just part of the business. We don't put up big signs or do much advertising. People who need garment work done usually find their way to us eventually. We just try to do a decent job with every piece of clothing that passes through our hands. It’s a small operation, but we are proud of the work we put out every day. There is always a lot of thread on the floor at the end of the day.
