Geena Garments

Geena Garments is tucked away over at No. 9/116E2 Chettiurai Thottam in Karaipudhur Village. It’s a bit quieter out here in the Veerapandi area compared to the main city center. We like that part about it. Every morning, the walk into work feels a bit more relaxed because of the surroundings. The workshop isn’t overly complicated. We have our setup, the tools we need, and a small team that lives nearby. Most of the people working here are from around the village or the next one over. We spend our time mostly focused on the cutting and stitching. It’s a routine that hasn’t changed much over the years. We don’t have big corporate meetings or anything. Instead, we just talk across the tables while we work. Sometimes the power goes out, and we just wait it out or find something else to do until it’s back. The address at Chettiurai Thottam is where we spend the bulk of our lives, really. We’ve seen the village change a bit, but our little corner stays mostly the same. There’s always dust on the windows and the smell of fabric in the air. We don’t think about it much, it’s just how it is. We keep the machines oiled and the floor swept as much as we can. It’s a simple living for us here in Karaipudhur. We don't have fancy titles or big offices, just the work we do every day at No. 9/116E2.
