G-Tech Engineering, Coimbatore

Our workshop is out in Pogalur, near Coimbatore. If you know the area, it’s near Sivammal Periaputhur. It is a bit of a drive from the main city, but we like it out here because there is more room to breathe. G-Tech Engineering has been running from this spot for some time. We handle a lot of the local engineering jobs that come our way from nearby villages and the outskirts. It’s mostly just metal work and fixing parts that people bring in on their tractors or trucks. The shed gets pretty hot in the afternoons, but we keep the fans going. It’s a family-run kind of setup. My father started things, and we just kept it going. We don’t have a big HR department or anyone in a suit. Mostly just grease on our hands and a lot of tools lying around. Sometimes the power goes out, which is common in this part of Tamil Nadu, so we just take a tea break then. We aren't trying to be the biggest company in India. We just want to make sure the work we do is solid so people keep coming back. It’s a simple life. We close up early on Saturdays to spend time with family. If you're coming from the city, just look for the sign near the main road. Most people around here can point you to us if you get lost.
