Grace Garments

Our workshop for Grace Garments is at No. 5 / 342 in Sri Nagar, Duraisamy Puram. It’s in the West Pitchampalayampudur area of Tirupur. The address is a bit of a mouthful, so we usually just tell people to look for the building near the main corner in Sri Nagar. We have a good amount of space here, but it’s always full of thread and scrap pieces of cloth. Being in Tirupur, there is always something going on with garments in every other building. We have our machines lined up in rows, and there is usually a lot of humming and clicking going on throughout the day. The floor is usually covered in lint, no matter how many times we try to sweep it up. We spend a lot of time checking the seams and making sure the buttons are on tight. It’s hard work and the days can be long, especially when we have a big order that needs to be finished by Friday. We don’t have a fancy office or a lobby. If you come by, you’ll likely see us hunched over the tables or moving piles of shirts from one side to the other. There’s a small tea stall just down the road where we go when we need a break. It’s a straightforward operation and we just try to stay on top of the daily tasks without falling behind.
