C.M.S. Engineering Works

Down at 2/2, Thiruvalluvar Nagar, you’ll find C.M.S. Engineering Works. We’re situated in Neelikonam Palayam, which is a place with a lot of history and hardworking folks. Our workshop isn't the quietest place in the world, what with the machines running and the sound of metal being worked on throughout the day. It’s a practical space, filled with tools and parts that we’ve collected over the years. We didn’t choose this spot for the looks; we chose it because it’s where we can actually get the engineering work done. The floors usually have a bit of oil or dust on them, but that’s just part of the job. Most of us here have grease under our fingernails by lunch time. We don't spend time on fancy marketing because our neighbors and the people we work with already know where we are and what we do. The Thiruvalluvar Nagar area is full of small businesses like ours, so there’s a sense of being part of a community. We open the doors early to let the air in while we start on the custom orders or repairs that came in the day before. Sometimes the weather gets really hot inside the shed, but we just keep the fans going and stay busy. It’s honest work, and we take it one day at a time. We don’t have a receptionist or a lobby. If you come by, you’ll likely just find us at the back near the lathes or the welding station.
