Chakravarthi Garments

You can find us at No. 1 in the Chakravarthi Complex here in Nallur. It’s our own little corner of the town. The complex has been here a while and we’ve made ourselves at home in it. We don't have a lot of fancy furniture or decorations. Most of the space is taken up by rolls of cloth and workstations. We start early most days to beat the heat. Nallur can get quite warm in the afternoons. Our team is small, mostly people from the surrounding streets. We don't use much technology for the sake of it. We prefer doing things by hand when we can. It feels more real that way. We don't have a marketing department or anyone to write fancy emails. We just answer the phone and talk to whoever is on the other end. If you come by, you’ll probably find us mid-task. We might have threads on our clothes or chalk on our hands. That’s just part of the job. We’ve been making garments this way for years. We don't see a reason to change much. The complex is a quiet place most of the time, which lets us focus. We aren't trying to win any awards. We just want to make sure the work is solid and the person buying it is okay with what they get. It’s a simple way to run a business.
