Bala Ji Engineering Co.

Bala Ji Engineering Co. is located on the first floor at F-11, right near the Shiv Mandir in Shastri Nagar. You can hear the bells from the temple sometimes when the windows are open, which is actually quite nice during a long day. The office is mostly full of blueprints, metal samples, and a lot of grease marks on the tables. Engineering work is never really clean, so we stopped trying to keep the place looking like a showroom a long time ago. We do a lot of small-scale fabrication and parts work for local factories around here. It is a bit of a climb up the stairs, but we’re used to it by now. My brother and I started this after working for a bigger firm for a decade. We wanted to do things our own way without all the meetings and emails. Here, we just pick up the tools and get to it. The tea stall downstairs makes the best ginger tea, and we probably spend too much money there every month. Most of our customers are people we've known for years. They know if they need something fixed or built, they can just come to the first floor and find us. It’s a bit noisy with the machines running sometimes, but that’s just how it is. We don't have a big marketing budget, we just rely on the work we do. It keeps the lights on and we are happy with that.
