B.S. Apparel

We’ve been here at No: 25 in the SIDCO area of Mudalipalayam for a while now. It’s an industrial spot, so there’s always something going on outside with trucks and people moving around. Inside B.S. Apparel, it’s mostly just the sound of the machines and the radio playing in the corner sometimes. We deal with a lot of fabric every day. It gets piled up on the big tables and then we get to work. It’s not a fancy place, just a regular work shed where we try to get things done on time. The humidity here in Mudalipalayam can be a bit much, especially in the afternoons, so we keep the fans going full speed. Most of the guys have been working here for years, so we all know the routine pretty well. We start early when it’s still a bit cool and keep going until the light starts to fade. Sometimes the power goes out, which is a bit of a pain, but we just wait it out and talk for a bit. It’s honest work, really. We just focus on the stitching and making sure the pieces look right before they go out the door. There’s always dust from the cotton, so we’re constantly sweeping up. It’s just how it is in this line of work. We aren't doing anything flashy, just sticking to what we know here at our little spot in the SIDCO estate.
