Our spot is at No. 46 in the Kurambapalayam Post area. It’s a bit outside the main town center, so things are a little quieter on our street compared to the busier parts of the region. Augustan Knitwear has been operating out of this building for some time now. When you walk in, the first thing you notice is the smell of fresh fabric and the rhythmic clicking of the knitting units. We spend most of our hours checking the tension on the machines or folding the finished goods. There is a lot of manual labor involved in keeping the place running smoothly. The yard outside is often filled with boxes ready to be picked up. We don't have a big reception area or anything like that because we need every inch of floor space for the production. The local weather can be a bit rough on the workers, especially during the peak of summer, but we just keep the fans going and carry on. It’s a very practical environment where the focus is strictly on the knitwear we are handling. People in the village know us as the main workplace around here. We don't do much talking; we just get to the site, do the work, and head home when the sun goes down. It is an honest living that keeps everyone busy throughout the week.
