Our workshop is situated on Thudiyalur Road, near the Saravanampatti Post. It’s a good spot because there's plenty of space for the fabrications we do. We spend most of our time out on the floor, working with various materials. It gets quite hot under the roof during the afternoons, but that’s just part of the environment. We’ve been here for a number of years and have seen the area grow a lot around us. There used to be more open fields, but now it’s getting more crowded. We do a lot of welding and cutting, so there is always a bit of noise coming from our unit. The workers here are mostly local people from around the post office area. We don't have any high-tech offices; it’s mostly just benches, tools, and the stuff we are building. Sometimes we have big stacks of metal waiting to be used, and other times the floor is clear after a big delivery. We aren't much for talking about ourselves; we’d rather just show you what we’ve built. It’s a lot of physical labor, and at the end of the day, everyone is usually pretty tired. We pack up, lock the gates, and head home just like everyone else. It’s a basic operation but it works for us and the people who come to see us. We’ve stayed in this one spot because it is where we belong and we know the community.
