Aanchor Fabrication

Our workshop is at No. 116-B on Palathurai Road, which is part of the industrial estate in Kurichi. It is a heavy area, lots of smoke and the smell of burnt oil in the air most of the time. We have been in this spot for a while, right in the middle of all the other factories. It is a loud place. Between the machines running and the trucks loading things up on the street, you have to yell sometimes just to be heard. We have stacks of steel beams and different metal parts lying around the floor. It is not the cleanest environment, but that is fabrication work for you. There is always a thin layer of iron dust on everything. We have a small area in the back where we keep our tools, and half the time we are looking for a wrench that someone forgot to put back. The roof is corrugated metal, so when it rains, the sound is deafening. We just keep working through it. Most of our day is spent measuring, cutting, and joining pieces together. It is honest work and it keeps us busy from early morning until late evening. People know us in the estate because we have been at this address for so long. We do not have any fancy signs or a big showroom. It is just a workshop where we work with our hands and try to get the orders out on time for whoever needs them.
