Kabra Brothers

If you walk down Gandhi Chowk, you will hear the bells from the Ganesh Mandir ringing throughout the day. That is exactly where we are. Kabra Brothers has been a part of this street for a while now. It is a busy spot, especially in the evenings when everyone is out doing their shopping. Our shop isn't very large, so we have to stack things pretty high up to the ceiling. Sometimes it takes a bit of climbing to find what someone is looking for. We don't have those fancy automatic doors or bright neon signs. Just a simple shutter that we pull up every morning at nine. My brother handles the money and the orders, while I mostly talk to the customers and move the crates around. It gets a bit cramped when more than three people are inside at once, but we make it work. We have an old ceiling fan that squeaks every time it turns, but it keeps the air moving. We know most of the people who walk through the door by their first name. Their kids have grown up coming here for small bits and pieces. We don't bother with much advertising because everyone around Gandhi Chowk already knows where to find us. It’s just a regular local shop where we try to keep enough stock so nobody leaves empty-handed. We close up when the sun goes down and the temple lights come on.
