We are located right next to the telephone exchange in Shambhupura, not far from the local post office. This is where we handle the daily grind for Aditya Cement. It is a very local operation, run by folks who have lived in this part of Chittorgarh for their entire lives. The office is right near the home of Shri Prem Shankar Sharma’s family, which gives the whole place a very personal and informal feel. It is definitely not a sterile corporate office. We deal with a lot of dust from the nearby roads and the constant rumbling of trucks moving materials around the district. Most of our day is spent talking to the drivers, checking the weighbridge slips, and making sure the orders are actually leaving the gates. Rajasthan is a tough place to work during the peak of summer, but we are all used to the heat by now. We do not have any glossy brochures or a team of professional salesmen. If you want to know something about a shipment, you just come by the office and ask us directly. We keep our records in simple ledgers and try to stay on top of the paperwork as best as we can. Sometimes things get a bit messy when we are busy, but we always manage to get it sorted out by the end of the day. It is a practical, no-nonsense way of working for us.
