J.K.Cement Limited has its spot at C-83 in Kailash Nagar-1. We are right there by the J.K. Cement Works in Nimbahera, in the Chittorgarh district. Being so close to the works means things are always a bit busy and there is a lot of movement. The air usually has that faint smell of stone and dust that you get used to after about two days of working here. Our office is a practical place. We have some heavy desks and filing cabinets that have seen better days. It is a bit of a maze with all the papers, but we know where everything is. Living and working in Nimbahera is quiet in some ways but loud in others. You hear the machinery and the trucks as a constant background hum. We don't have any polished floors or glass walls. It’s a lot of concrete and brick. The guys come in from the plant with dusty boots and we just keep the work moving along. It’s a tight-knit group here because we are all in the same colony area. We share stories over lunch and complain about the heat when it hits forty degrees. It’s not a fancy life, but it’s our life. We do the work that needs to get done without making a big fuss about it.
