Birla Cement Work

Our place is on Bhilwara Road in Chanderiya, which is part of Chittorgarh. We are situated right near the railway fatak, so we hear the trains going by all the time. Birla Cement Work is the name we use for the shop. It’s a busy area because of the railway crossing and all the vehicles that have to wait there. We get a lot of people stopping in just because they are stuck at the fatak and see our sign. We do a lot of heavy lifting here, handling bags and making sure they get loaded properly. It’s a dusty environment and the summers in Chittorgarh are no joke. We just keep some water handy and stay at it. We don't have a big corporate feel here at all. It is just a few of us working together to keep the business going. We know the local builders and the guys who do small home repairs. They come to us because they know we are right here on the main road. It isn't always perfect; sometimes we run out of things or the delivery is delayed. But we tell people the truth and do what we can to fix it. It’s a simple way to run a business, but it works for us in Chanderiya. Most days are long, but we like being right here where all the action is.
