Ashwin Traders

You can find us over at Pragati Tower on the Krishi Mandi Road, which is basically the loudest street in Pratapgarh Tehsil during the day. We are in Ward No-24 and the post office is just a short walk away if you need to find a landmark. Ashwin Traders isn't a very large operation, we mostly just occupy a couple of rooms where we keep our records and some of the smaller stock. The traffic outside is always a headache with the trucks coming from the market, but it means there is always something happening. We spend a lot of time on the phone or just shouting over the noise of the street to talk to the drivers. The building itself is okay, though the elevator in the tower breaks down every few weeks so we end up taking the stairs a lot. It’s quite a climb when you’re carrying heavy files or samples. We don’t have a big team, just a few of us who have been doing this for years now. We usually have lunch together in the back room while the market quietens down for an hour. It’s not the most glamorous work, mostly just tracking prices and making sure the goods move from one place to another without too many problems. We keep the doors open to let some air in, even if it brings in the dust from the road.
