Zion Leatherites is based at No. 144 on Medavakkam Main Road in Adambakkam. We’ve been in this spot for a good while, and if you know the area, you know how busy that road can get. Our building is pretty easy to spot once you get close. We work mostly with leather materials and synthetic stuff for all kinds of uses. The workshop floor is usually covered in scraps and offcuts because we’re always in the middle of a project. It’s a noisy place with the sounds of cutting and heavy-duty sewing. We don’t have a big front office; it’s mostly just the workspace and a small desk where we keep the books. Most of our day is spent handling rolls of material and making sure they’re ready for the customers. Adambakkam is a good neighborhood, and we have a lot of regulars who just drop by to see what we have in stock. We don’t really do anything corporate. We just wear our regular clothes and get our hands dirty. Sometimes the heat in the summer makes it tough, but we just keep the fans going and keep working. It’s a simple way to make a living, and we’re happy with it. We don't have any fancy mission statements or anything. We just make sure the leather is good and the orders go out on time. That’s about it for us.
