Fathima Bags

Fathima Bags is located on the 2nd floor of No. 53/66 on Nainiyappan Street. This is right in the heart of Mannady. If you know Mannady, you know the streets are narrow and always full of people and goods being moved around. We are up a flight of stairs, which keeps us away from the main noise of the street a little bit. We work with all kinds of bags here. The 2nd-floor space is where we keep our stock and do some of the sorting for orders. It is a lot of manual labor, carrying bundles of bags up and down those stairs. The building is quite old and has that specific smell of an active market area. We spend the whole day checking orders and making sure the right bags go to the right people. It is a busy life on Nainiyappan Street. We don’t have a fancy showroom or a big display window. It is more of a functional space for business. You will see rolls of material and finished products stacked up high against the walls. We have been in Mannady for quite a while now. It is a community of traders and we fit right in with the rest of them. Sometimes the power goes out and we just have to wait it out in the dark. It is just part of the job here. We don’t use any fancy technology. It is just hard work.
