Lavi'S The Shades

We have been here at number 22 in West Mambalam for a while now. Most people around Ashok Nagar know the spot because it is easy to find near the main corners. The shop is filled with different kinds of shades and fabrics for windows. It gets a bit crowded inside sometimes when we have a lot of stock arriving from the trucks. We spend most of the morning just unpacking things and hanging them up so people can see the colors. It is not a very big place, but we make it work for what we need. Usually, there is some dust from the street because the road is always busy with bikes and autos going past at all hours. We keep a small fan running in the corner to stay cool during the afternoons. Sometimes the tea man comes by and we take a quick break together. We do not really have fancy displays or anything like that. People just walk in and look through the catalogs or touch the material to see if they like the feel. We have a few plastic chairs for customers to sit on while we talk about what they need for their homes. Most of the time, we are just busy measuring things or writing down orders in a big old ledger. It is a quiet kind of work but it keeps us on our toes. The evening light hits the front window in a certain way that makes the whole shop look bright before we close up.
