Hasina Bags is located at old number 10, which is now new number 51, on the first floor of Stringer Street. If you know the area, we are right near Olympic Cards, which is a big landmark for everyone around here. Stringer Street is one of those places that is always loud and full of people moving stuff. Our shop is up a narrow set of stairs that can be a bit tricky if you’re carrying a lot of weight. Inside, the space is pretty much packed to the ceiling with bags of all kinds. It’s a bit dark because the building is old and the windows are small, but we have enough light to see what we are doing. We spend our days counting inventory and talking to people who come up the stairs. It’s a very traditional market feel in this part of town. The air is always a bit heavy with the smell of new material and dust from the street. We’ve been at this location for a long time, so we know the rhythm of the street. When the weather is hot, it gets really stuffy on the first floor, but we just keep the fans on high. It’s not a fancy showroom, it’s a working shop where we handle everything ourselves. People come to us because they know where Stringer Street is and they’ve seen our sign near the entrance. It’s just plain, hard work every day.
