Vels Vidhyashram School

Vels Vidhyashram School is located at 4/9, Amman Nagar, right in the Nesapakkam neighborhood. It’s a fairly busy part of town, so there is always something going on outside our doors. The school is tucked into the local area among the houses and shops. We have been here at this address for some time now. Most of the staff are just local people who care about the neighborhood. The building has a few floors and plenty of windows to let in the light. In the mornings, Amman Nagar gets quite lively with parents dropping off their kids. You’ll see us at the gate most days, just keeping an eye on things. It’s not a corporate environment at all. The desks are a bit worn and the hallways are narrow, but it feels like home to those of us who work here. We don’t use a lot of big words to describe what we do. We just open up, teach the lessons, and make sure the building is locked up tight at night. Sometimes the rain in Nesapakkam can make the street a bit messy, but we just deal with it. It’s a practical place for regular families. We like the noise and the energy that the kids bring to this little corner of the city. It’s just us doing our best every day in Amman Nagar.
