Ushas Textiles

We've been here at 3rd Street in Dr. Thirumurthi Nagar for a while now. Dealing with textiles is what we do every day. It’s a busy spot in Nungambakkam. People come in looking for different types of cloth. Sometimes it’s for a specific project, other times they just want to see what’s on the shelves. We keep a lot of rolls around. The shop isn't huge, but we make use of the space we have. Working with fabric means a lot of measuring and cutting. My hands are usually covered in some kind of lint by the end of the day. It gets dusty, but that’s part of the trade. We try to keep things organized, though during a busy week, it’s hard to stay on top of the folding. Nungambakkam is a good area to be in, even if parking can be a bit of a headache for folks visiting us. We see a mix of regular customers and people just passing through the neighborhood. We don't really do much fancy talk here. We just show you what we have and tell you the price. If it works for you, that's great. If not, maybe next time. The street outside is usually full of life, which keeps things interesting while we're working. It’s mostly about getting the orders right and making sure we don't run out of the popular materials. It’s a steady kind of life, surrounded by colors and threads all day long.
