Nandha Arts is tucked away at 612 Rangabashyam Street in West Saidapet. If you know this part of Chennai, you know the streets are narrow and there is always something going on. My shop is a bit small, and I’ve got stuff piled up in almost every corner. Whether it is frames, canvases, or just old supplies, there is never enough shelf space. I’ve been working out of this spot for a long time now. My hands usually have a bit of ink or paint on them by lunch, and the floor is never quite as clean as I’d like it to be. People from the neighborhood stop by, sometimes just to chat or ask if I can fix something they broke. It is a bit of a squeeze when more than two people are inside at once, but we make it work. I don't have a fancy website or a big marketing team; it’s just me and the work I do right here on Rangabashyam Street. Sometimes the traffic outside gets so loud I have to shout to be heard, but that is just life in Saidapet. I enjoy the process of making things, even when the shop feels a bit chaotic. It is a simple life, and I’m happy to be a part of this local community.
