India Coats & Painters

You can find India Coats & Painters over at 67, Sidco Industrial Estate in Thirumazhisai. Being in an industrial estate means we are surrounded by factories and warehouses, so it’s always noisy with trucks and machines. Our place is more of a workshop than a showroom. We focus on painting and coating work for various industrial parts. It’s a very practical environment. There are spray booths, drying racks, and big drums of industrial paint everywhere. The air always smells a bit like chemicals and thinners, which is something you just get used to after a week. I started this place with a couple of friends who knew how to handle a spray gun. We don't have a front desk or a receptionist. If you come by, you’ll probably find us in our overalls in the back. We take on jobs from the other businesses in Sidco and sometimes from further away in Chennai. It’s not the kind of work where you stay clean. We’re usually covered in some kind of primer by lunchtime. We don't have a big marketing budget or a sales team. Most of our work comes from being in the right place and doing a solid job so people tell their friends. It’s a tough business but we like seeing the finished products lined up and ready to go. We keep the fans running and the lights bright, working through the pile of orders we have.
