Art Houz Gallery

Art Houz Gallery is found at 123, Sterling Road, right in the Seetha Nagar part of Nungambakkam. It is an old building but it has its own character, which fits what we do here. We have different rooms where we keep things on display, and the light comes in through the windows in a nice way during the morning. People walk in from the street sometimes just to escape the heat and look around for a bit. We don't mind that at all. It is usually pretty quiet, which is a nice change from the traffic noise on Sterling Road. We spend a lot of time moving frames around or adjusting the lights to make sure everything looks okay. There is always a bit of a smell of paint or wood in the air, which we have gotten used to over the years. We aren't trying to be some high-end place where you feel like you can't touch anything. People seem to feel okay when they come inside. The folks working here have been around art for a long time. They are usually busy with some task or another, like unpacking crates or talking to someone about a piece they like. The floorboards creak a little in certain spots, and we have a small area in the back where we keep the extra stuff. It is just a place for art and for people who like looking at it. We have been here in Nungambakkam for a while and plan to stay.
