The Handicrafts & Handlooms Exports Corporation Of India Limited

We’ve been based out of the Industrial Estate in Guindy for quite some time now. Our office is at No. 31-32, right in the thick of things where all the manufacturing happens. It’s a busy spot. Most days are spent looking over stacks of hand-woven fabrics and various wooden crafts that come in from different parts of the country. Being an export corporation sounds fancy, but really, it’s just a lot of logistics and checking boxes to make sure things get where they need to go. The warehouse side can get pretty dusty, especially in the afternoons when the trucks are moving in and out. We have a small team here. We don't really do big advertisements or anything. People mostly know where to find us because we’ve been in this specific corner of Guindy for years. Sometimes the traffic on the main road makes it a bit of a pain to get to work, but once you’re inside the gates of the estate, it’s just the usual routine. We deal with a lot of paperwork because of the export side of things. It’s not always exciting work, but seeing the finished items packed up in crates is a good feeling. We try to keep things organized, though with the amount of handloom stock coming through, it’s a bit of a challenge sometimes. It’s a practical place, nothing too pretty, just a working office and storage space where we get the job done every day.
