If you drive down Trichy Road in Coimbatore South, you’ll find us at SF.NO.633. Tecoteca Tea is right there where the road is always busy. We spend our days surrounded by huge sacks of tea. It’s a lot of manual labor, moving things from the back of the warehouse to the front. We do some of our own blending here. We have these big tables where we spread the tea out to look at the color and the size of the leaves. It’s quiet work, but it takes a lot of concentration. The sounds from Trichy Road are always in the background, a constant hum of engines and tires. We have a small office in the corner where we keep the books and answer the phone. It’s usually a bit messy with tea samples and half-empty cups. We aren't trying to impress anyone with a polished showroom. This is a working warehouse. We get our hands dirty and our clothes always smell like a tea plantation. Sometimes the humidity makes the tea leaves clump together, so we have to be careful about how we store everything. We’ve been at this spot for a while, and we know the other business owners on the block. We help each other out when someone needs a hand loading a heavy pallet. It’s just a normal day of work for us, making sure the tea is ready for the market.
