Leo Coffee

Leo Coffee is at 16 South Mada Street in Mylapore. This is a very traditional part of the city. We are close to the big temple, so there are always people walking by, especially in the early hours. The shop is small and smells like roasted beans all the time. We have a few counters and some bags of coffee waiting to be moved. The street outside is narrow and can get very crowded with flower sellers and devotees. We open up early because that’s when the neighborhood is most active. Most of our day is spent handling the coffee and talking to the regulars who stop in. The walls are a bit stained from years of use, and the floor is simple tile. We don't have a fancy lounge or anything like that. People just come in, get what they need, and move on. The heat in Mylapore can be intense, so we have a couple of ceiling fans that stay on all day. There’s a certain rhythm to life on South Mada Street that we’ve become a part of. We see the same faces every morning. It’s a humble setup, but it’s been working for us. We don't spend much time worrying about the decor. We just focus on the daily tasks and making sure everything is ready for the next day. It’s a simple life here in the heart of Mylapore.
