Sabols Packaged Drinking Water Company is located in Arumbakkam. We’re at New No. 6, which used to be Old No. 19, on Velan Nagar 2nd Main Road. It’s a bit of a mouthful to say the address, but we’ve been here long enough that people find us. Our work is all about water. We spend the day monitoring the bottling and making sure everything is clean. It’s a lot of heavy lifting with the crates and bottles, so it keeps us in shape. Arumbakkam is a busy area, but our street is tucked away just enough. The machinery makes a constant humming sound in the background. We don’t have a fancy front office. Most of the space is taken up by the water processing and storage. We have a small crew and we all know what needs to be done. There’s a lot of routine involved, checking levels and loading the trucks. Sometimes it gets a bit chaotic when a lot of orders come in at once, but we just get through it. We aren’t trying to be the biggest company out there. We just want to provide the water and keep things moving. It’s a basic business but it’s an important one for the neighborhood. We show up every day and do our part. It's physical work and the days are long, but we just get on with it and keep the bottles moving to where they need to go.
