St Vincents Matriculation School

Our school is located at No 24 on 4th Street in the Railway Colony of Aminjikarai. It is a very specific part of the neighborhood. You can hear the trains passing by every now and then, which is something we have all just gotten used to over time. The building is not very tall, but it spreads out across the plot. We have a gate that stays open during the morning rush. The students come from the colony and the streets nearby. It is a very tight-knit community here. We have classrooms that are filled with wooden benches. The walls are painted a simple color that does not show the dirt too much. We have a small office where all the records are kept in big folders. The teachers come in early and stay until the last kid is picked up in the evening. We have a playground that gets very hot in the afternoon sun. There is a small tap in the corner where kids wash their hands. We do not have a lot of fancy equipment. It is just a place for lessons and growing up. The stairs are narrow, so we have to tell the kids to be careful when they run. The hallway has a few lockers that do not really lock anymore, so we just use them for storage. We have a small porch where we stand when it rains. It is an honest place for local families.
