St. Michaels Academy

We have been based in Adyar for a long time now. Most people know our building over on III Canal Cross Road in Gandhi Nagar. It’s a busy little corner but we have made it our home. The school itself isn't some fancy modern structure; it's an older place that shows its age in some spots, but it works perfectly for what we need. Kids come from all over the neighborhood, some walking from nearby houses and others getting dropped off right by the canal. We don't have massive gates or expensive statues. It is just classrooms, some desks, and a yard for the children to run around in. It gets pretty warm in the afternoons, though the trees we have give a bit of shade. The teachers here mostly just get on with their work without making a fuss. Parents often hang around the gate at pickup time to catch up. It really feels like a piece of the local community because that’s exactly what it is. We see the same faces every morning and evening. Gandhi Nagar is generally a quiet area compared to the main roads nearby. St. Michaels Academy is just a regular school where people come to learn and grow. We have boards, books, and a lot of noise during recess. Some days are hectic and others are quiet when exams are on. The neighborhood has changed around us but we are still here doing our thing on the road.
