St Josephs Matriculation School

St Josephs is located on Anna Street in Gandhi Nagar, which is part of Avadi. We have been here for a long time, and the building definitely shows it. It’s a traditional matriculation school, so we follow the standard curriculum very closely. The classrooms have these old wooden benches that have been used by many generations of students. They are still in good shape, though they have some scratches on them. We have a small courtyard where we hold our morning assembly and a little playground area with some swings and a slide. The equipment is a bit old and the paint is peeling, but the kids don't seem to mind much. Most of our teachers live nearby in Avadi and have been working with us for years. We aren't a big, wealthy school. We rely on the monthly fees to pay for the electricity and the maintenance of the place. It’s a very simple operation. We don’t have a marketing department or any glossy brochures to hand out. When parents come to ask about the school, we just show them the classrooms and tell them about the teachers. We focus on getting the kids ready for their exams and making sure they behave themselves. It’s a quiet, local school that has become a bit of a fixture in this neighborhood. We just take things one day at a time and do our work.
