St Antonys Matriculation Higher Secondary School

St Antonys Matriculation Higher Secondary School is located at No 9 in Jothi Nagar. We are right on the 1st Street, which is very close to the Wimco railway station in Thiruvottiyur. Because of where we are, the sound of the trains going past is just a normal part of our school day. It’s a busy, industrial part of the city, and our students come from all the surrounding areas. Some kids take the train and others walk from the nearby streets. We have both the matriculation and the higher secondary levels, so there’s a wide age range on campus. The building is a simple concrete structure that has been there for quite a while. We don’t have much in the way of big open fields, so the students just use the courtyard during their breaks. It gets quite hot in this part of Chennai, but we have some old fans in the classrooms to keep things moving. The teachers are mostly local people who understand the neighborhood and the families here. We just stick to the curriculum and focus on getting everyone ready for their exams. There isn't anything particularly fancy about our school. It’s just a place where kids come to learn and we do our best to teach them. We’ve been part of this community for a long time and we just keep going with our daily routines, year after year.
