You will find us on Ellai Amman Koil Street in Tiruvottiyur. It is a busy part of town with a lot going on around us. The school has a very traditional feel to it, which fits in well with the local neighborhood. We have been here for many years, and many of the adults in the area actually studied here themselves when they were young. The building is solid and has plenty of rooms for all the different grades. We start the day early before the sun gets too hot. The teachers are mostly local people who care about how the kids are doing. We don't have a lot of expensive gadgets, but we have enough to teach the lessons properly. The students wear their uniforms and follow the rules, and for the most part, things run smoothly. We have a small office where we keep all the records and talk to parents about their concerns. It can be a bit crowded when everyone is arriving at once, but we manage. The street outside is always lively, but inside the walls, we try to keep things focused on the books. We don't do much in the way of advertising because everyone around here already knows who we are. It is a community school through and through. We just want to keep providing a place for the local children to learn without making a big fuss about it. Every year we see a new batch come in and an old one leave, and we just keep going.
