Sri B S Mootha Girls Senior Sec School W Mambalam is situated at No 80, Brindavan Street. It is very close to the Mambalam Railway Station, so we hear the trains going by all day long. Being in West Mambalam means we are right in the heart of a very busy residential and commercial area. The school is specifically for girls, and we’ve been operating from this Brindavan Street location for quite a while. The building isn't huge, but we make the most of every square inch of space we have. The walk from the station is short, which is handy for the staff and students who take the train. The mornings are loud with the sound of the city waking up and the girls arriving for their classes. We don’t have a fancy lobby or anything like that; the entrance leads right into the main corridor. The classrooms are filled with old wooden desks and chairs that have been there for years. We spend our days dealing with the usual school stuff—grading papers, fixing broken fans, and keeping the records updated in the office. It’s a very practical environment. We don’t use a lot of big words to describe what we do. It’s just a school in West Mambalam where we try to keep things orderly and make sure the students learn something before the final bell rings and everyone heads home to the station.
