Sri Annai Frame Mart

Sri Annai Frame Mart is located at No 1, Devaraja Mudali Street. This is right in the middle of Park Town, so you can imagine the noise and the crowds every single day. The street is always packed with people moving goods back and forth. Our shop is quite narrow, but we manage to fit all our glass and framing materials inside. It’s a bit of a squeeze when more than two people are working at once. We spend a lot of time cleaning glass and making sure the corners of the frames are tight. Being in Park Town means there is never a dull moment. You can hear the shouting of the vendors and the horns of the vehicles all day long. We’ve got stacks of frame moldings against the walls. Some are simple wood and others have more detail. It’s a messy process, getting the backing right and making sure no dust gets trapped inside the frame. We usually have the radio playing in the background to drown out the street noise a bit. It’s hot in this part of town, especially in the afternoons, so we keep the door open for whatever breeze might come through. We don't have a big corporate office or anything. It's just us at the workbench. We've seen a lot of businesses come and go on this street, but we just keep at our tasks.
