Sonus Cafe

We’re located at 156, Old Mahabalipuram Road in Duraipakkam. Most people just call it OMR. It’s a busy stretch of road with lots of IT offices and traffic. Sonus Cafe is our little spot amidst all that chaos. We opened up because we wanted a place where people could just grab something and sit for a minute. It’s not a huge place. We have some basic chairs and tables. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but we haven't gotten around to it yet. We serve coffee and some light snacks. Our kitchen is small, so we don't have a massive menu. We prefer keeping it simple. The morning crowd is mostly people heading to work in a hurry. We try to be fast, but sometimes there’s a wait when the machine is being temperamental. We don't use any fancy marketing tricks. We just put a sign out front and wait for people to walk in. The staff is just a few of us who live nearby. We talk to the customers about the weather or the traffic on OMR. It’s a normal life here. We aren't trying to be the trendiest cafe in Chennai. We just want to be a reliable place where you can get a hot drink. It’s a bit noisy because of the main road, but we like the vibe. Sometimes the rain makes the road messy, but people still find their way to our door. We appreciate that. It keeps the lights on.
