Seabird Exports

We are located at No. 7/4 on Palaniamman Kovil 5th Street in Triplicane. If you know Triplicane, you know how narrow and busy the streets are around here. There’s always a lot going on, especially with the temple nearby. We handle exports, which means our small space is often filled with boxes and packing materials. It’s a bit of a squeeze getting everything moved in and out of such a tight street, but we’ve managed for years. Most of our day is spent talking to suppliers or checking the weight of packages on our old scales. It’s hot work most of the year. We don't have air conditioning in the packing area, just some old ceiling fans that buzz constantly. We aren’t a big corporation with departments. It’s just a few of us doing everything from the typing to the heavy lifting. We know the neighbors well and often share a tea with the shop owners next door when it's quiet. It’s a traditional way of doing business, I suppose. We don't have any big goals other than making sure the day's shipments are picked up on time. It’s just a regular job in a crowded, lively part of the city. We just keep moving forward one day at a time. No fuss, just the daily export work that keeps us busy.
