S. S. Exports

S. S. Exports is tucked away at F-2, 1/1, Sivasailam Street in T Nagar. If you know Chennai, you know how busy T Nagar gets. It’s always a rush outside our door with shoppers and traffic. Inside, we try to keep things a bit more controlled. We handle a lot of different items for export, so there’s always paperwork to fill out. The office is small, and the shelves are stacked high with files and samples. We spend a lot of time on the phone talking to shipping agents or checking on where a truck is. It’s a lot of waiting and then a lot of rushing. The humidity here is no joke, so we usually have the fans going full blast. We don't have a corporate structure. It’s more like a family where everyone knows what to do. If someone is sick, someone else just steps in. We don’t have fancy brochures. Most of our work comes from people who have known us for years. We just try to make sure the quality is decent and the boxes are labeled correctly. It’s a simple life on Sivasailam Street. We finish our work, lock up, and head into the T Nagar crowds to go home. Some days the city feels overwhelming, but we just come back and do it all again the next morning.
