Retchakar Crafts

Our workshop is tucked away on the second floor of the SIDCO Industrial Estate in Ekkattuthangal. It’s TS 84, if you are looking for the exact spot. Being in an industrial area means there’s always something going on around us, lots of trucks and people moving things. Inside, it’s all about the crafts. We aren't some big automated factory; a lot of what happens here involves actual hands-on work. It gets a bit dusty and loud sometimes because that’s just the nature of making things. We’ve been in this space for a bit, and while it isn't the most glamorous building, it serves us well. The stairs up to the second floor are a bit narrow, so moving larger items can be a bit of a task. We spend most of our hours making sure the quality is okay before things go out. It’s a busy environment, especially when we have several projects running at once. Most of the staff here live nearby, so it feels like a neighborhood workplace. We don’t have a fancy showroom or anything like that. It’s just a floor where we get the job done. Sometimes we run out of space for all the materials, but we make it work. It’s honest labor, and we take it one day at a time without making a big fuss about it. The industrial estate has a rhythm to it that we’ve grown used to over the years. It’s a small team, and we often eat lunch together in the corner where the light is better. We don't have a fancy reception desk, just a table where we keep the invoices. It works for us.
