Ramana Arts & Crafts

You can find us at 103, Ambika Street, right on Muthu Mariamman Street in Porur. We are pretty close to Swamy School, so we hear the bells and the kids playing throughout the day. At Ramana Arts & Crafts, things are usually a bit colorful and a little disorganized. We have supplies tucked into every corner of the room. It’s not a sterile environment; it’s a place where things are actually being made and handled. We spend a lot of time sorting through different materials and making sure we have enough for whatever project is happening. The street outside can get a bit congested with traffic, especially when school lets out, but we are used to the noise by now. We don't have a big team of people. It’s mostly just a few of us doing the heavy lifting and the packing. Sometimes the floor is covered in scraps or dust from the crafts, and we just sweep it up at the end of the day. We don't use much fancy technology here. Most of our work is done by hand or with simple tools. We like the feel of the materials and the way the shop smells. It’s a practical way to spend the day. We aren't trying to impress anyone with a fancy storefront. We just stay busy in our corner of Porur and keep the work moving along as best as we can. It's just a regular local craft spot.
