Rajas Cafe

If you know Pudupet, you know Langs Garden Road is always moving. We are right there at number 2, near the old Chitra Theatre. People usually stop in because they are either going to the movies or they are busy around the spare parts shops nearby. Rajas Cafe is not one of those modern places with air conditioning that freezes you out. We have fans and the doors are usually open to the street. It gets a bit loud with the traffic, but you get used to it after a while. We spend most of the morning getting things ready. It is a lot of routine work, honestly. Boiling water, cleaning tables, and making sure we have enough supplies for the day ahead. We do not have a massive menu, just the things people actually like to eat and drink when they are on a short break. The staff is just a few of us who have been around for a long bit. We know most of the regulars by their orders before they even sit down. It is a bit cramped when it gets busy, but that is the charm of a place like this. We do not do anything fancy, just honest food and a place to sit for a while. If the tea is hot and the snacks are fresh, folks are happy. That is all we really aim for every single day we open.
