Orsala Overseas

Orsala Overseas is located at 12/22, Covelong Muthu Street. Periamet is the heart of the trade here in Chennai, especially when it comes to leather and other goods. The street is narrow and always full of people moving big bundles of materials. Our office is on the first floor. It’s not very big, but we have enough space for the computers and the sample racks we use. We spend a lot of time talking to vendors and checking the quality of the materials coming in from the tanneries. Sometimes the rains make the street outside a bit of a swamp, but we keep going regardless. We aren't into big marketing campaigns or flashy ads. We just answer the phone and reply to emails as they come in. Most of the people working here have been with us for a long time, so we are more like a small family. We know the rhythm of the docks and the shipping schedules by heart. It can be stressful when a container is delayed at the port, but we just handle it one step at a time and call the clients. We have a small balcony where we go to get some air, though all you see is more shops and delivery trucks. It’s a busy life, but it’s our life. We take pride in just being consistent with our work. We don’t promise the moon, just that we will do our job properly and on time.
