Kendriya Vidyalaya Fort St George

This school is situated in a very historic part of Chennai, right at Island Ground on Pallavan Street. If you know Mount Road, you know how busy and central this area is. Being near Fort St George gives the whole place a bit of a different feel compared to other schools in the city. There is a lot of open space around Island Ground, which is quite rare for this part of town. The school has been here for a long time, and the buildings have that solid, older look to them. We get a lot of breeze coming in because of the location, which helps with the heat. The mornings here are usually quite a sight, with the school buses and parents arriving while the city is just waking up. We don't have a lot of modern, flashy decorations. It’s a very standard, functional environment where the focus is just on the daily schedule. The hallways are long and have seen thousands of students pass through over the decades. It’s a bit of a walk from the main gate to some of the buildings, but it's a nice change from the cramped streets nearby. We don't do much in the way of promotion because the school's location and its name are well-known to everyone in the city. It’s just a place that has been doing its job year after year, right in the heart of Chennai.
