Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Sr Sec School

This school is tucked away on Iv-Avenue in Ashok Nagar. It’s a pretty quiet street most of the time, except for when the bells ring and all the students come pouring out into the yard. We’ve got a decent-sized building here with several floors to accommodate the senior secondary classes. The neighborhood is mostly residential, so we have a lot of houses surrounding us. It’s nice because it feels safe and like we’re part of a real community. Inside the school, things are kept fairly plain. We have long corridors that echo when the kids are moving between subjects. The staff room is always a bit cluttered with papers and books, which is just how a school should look, I think. We have a small area for sports and games, though it’s not as big as some of the newer places you see these days. The desks are the old-fashioned kind, and we still use chalk on the boards most of the time. Every morning, the students gather for the assembly in the main hall, and you can hear their voices all the way down the avenue. We don’t have fancy gadgets or anything too modern, but we have enough to get the job done every day. The teachers here have been around for a while, and they know the names of most of the parents who come by the gate. It’s a steady, reliable kind of place to be.
