Govt Senior Basic School

You can find us at No 17/14 in Nanganallur. This is a fairly quiet residential area for the most part, but it gets lively around our building. Govt Senior Basic School is a plain place where we focus on the day-to-day things. The rooms are a bit small and we have to fit a lot of kids in them. We deal with the usual Chennai humidity every single day. The fans are always running at full speed to keep everyone comfortable. We have a lot of old wooden furniture that has been around for decades. Some of the drawers in the office stick, but we manage. People in Nanganallur know this school well because it has been part of the community for so long. We spend our mornings checking the gate and making sure the courtyard is swept. There is a lot of chatter in the hallways during the breaks. We don't have a big playground, but the kids find space to move around. Sometimes the power goes out, and we just have to wait for it to come back on. It is an honest, simple environment. We don't have any high-tech gadgets or modern interiors. It's just bricks, mortar, and a lot of students. We take care of the basic maintenance ourselves when things break down. That’s just how we do things here at No 17/14. We focus on the basic work that needs doing.
