Govt Boys Higher Secondary School

In the middle of Vepery, on Purasawalkam High Road, there’s a place called Waikiki Complex. Govt Boys Higher Secondary School is located at No 289/32 inside that complex. It’s an unusual spot for a school, being in a commercial complex, but we make it work. The area is incredibly busy. Purasawalkam is known for its shops and markets, so there is always a crowd outside. Our school takes up a portion of the building. It’s not like those schools with big open fields. We have corridors and classrooms that are tucked away from the main noise of the street. Inside, it’s a lot of boys and teachers going from room to room. The air can get a bit stuffy, so we keep the fans going all day. The desks are the old wooden kind, and the floors are easy to clean. We don’t have a lot of extra space for things that aren't necessary. It’s a very practical environment. We focus on getting the boys ready for their higher secondary exams. Most of us have been working here for a long time and we know the shortcuts through the building. The complex itself has other offices and shops, so it’s a bit of a mix of people. We just do our part and keep the school running day after day. It’s a bit cramped sometimes, but it’s home for us during the work week.
