Government Secondary School

Our secondary school is found at No 2/4 on Valliammai Street along the Nerkundram Pathai in Vadapalani. This part of Chennai is always moving and the streets are constantly filled with people and shops. The school building is tucked into a spot that can be easy to miss if you aren't looking for it. It is a standard government setup with multiple classrooms and a small area for the staff to sit. We have been here for years and the walls have been painted many times over. The desks are the old wooden kind that have seen a lot of students pass through them. In the mornings we open all the windows to let the air circulate before the students arrive. Vadapalani is a loud place and you can always hear the horns and the general bustle from the street while we are teaching. We spend a lot of time on the basics like making sure the attendance is taken and the lessons are finished on time. There is no special equipment or modern tech here. It is just a place for the local kids to get their secondary education. We have a small group of teachers who have worked together for a long time so we have a good system for keeping things running. It is a busy and sometimes tiring job but we just get through the day one step at a time.
