Our building is situated at No 7/4 on Kilpauk Garden Road right near Tharmaraja Koil Street. Kilpauk is a busy area and our school is right in the thick of it. The street can be quite narrow and congested especially in the afternoons when everyone is trying to get home. We have a small entrance that leads into the main school area. It is a bit of an old building and you can tell by the way the paint is peeling in some corners. We don't really mind it though because it has a lot of character. Every day we come in and set up the classrooms for the students. There is always a lot of chatter in the hallways before the lessons start. We have a small staff and we all take turns looking after the different tasks that need doing. The proximity to the temple on Tharmaraja Koil Street means we often hear the bells and the music during festival times which is nice. We focus on the basic things here like making sure the students attend their classes and do their work. The furniture is basic and the rooms are simple but they serve their purpose. We just try to provide a steady environment for the children in the Kilpauk area. It is a lot of hard work keeping everything running on time but we have a good rhythm going. It is just our regular daily life here at the school.
