Government School Kannangi

You can find us at number 4/51 on Maracoir Street in Mannady. It is a very busy part of Chennai, always crowded with people and shops. Our school has been part of this neighborhood for a long time. The street is narrow, and there is always something happening right outside the door. We aren't a big private institution; we are just a regular government school for the local families. The kids walk here from the nearby houses. It gets quite hot in the afternoons, but we have some fans going. We don’t really have a big playground, just the space we have. The building itself is older, with high ceilings and heavy doors. We spend our days teaching and keeping the kids occupied. It is a lot of work, but we are used to the noise of the city surrounding us. Sometimes the bells from the nearby places or the sounds of the market drift in. We just focus on what needs to be done. No one here is trying to be fancy. We just show up, open the classrooms, and get to it. It’s just how things are in this part of town. Everyone knows the address if they need us. We have lived here and worked here for years. It’s just home for us and the students. The bricks and mortar have seen many faces pass through. We just do our best to keep the environment steady for them through the years.
